Steinzeiler Vertical from 2008 - 1997

Steinzeiler9708

A marvelous tasting with dear friends:

2008 — elegant and young
2007 — striking, distinctive and young
2006 — spicy, young
2005 — wow! drinking well already...
2004 —rather firm, still needs time
2003 — juicy and long
2002 — this one's the classic; tremendous
2001 — absolutely underestimated, very good
2000 — needs air!
1999 — fabulous as always—will it continue to improve?
1997 — ...and just a wee bit better—if you can imagine that!

Blaufränkisch Auslese 1975

Bf75a1kl

this Auslese comes from the great 1975 vintage as well: no perceptible residual sugar; finely matured, but without so much presence on the palate as the same year's Steinzeiler.
